The design is simple:
Video Source -> Canopus ADVC-100 - Firewire -> Mac Mini - QT Broadcaster -> QTSS - relay -> Multicasting.
For captioning, the close caption is converted to open caption before ADVC-100. ADVC-100 takes away the caption track - too bad for that happens. I got this idea because that was the way how I learn English from watching TV. I used to have a close captioning decoder; so, I can understand what they are talking about on TV.
I have the oppertunity to work on SAN as the backend storage (RAID Inc.) and cluster filesystem through X-RAID. Very exciting experience.
